Google Shows Us Change
In anticipation of the United Nations’ Climate Change Convention, Google has unveiled its first climate tour on Google Earth. In December, representatives from around the world are attending a conference in Copenhagen, Denmark to discuss ways to reduce global warming emissions. This is the fifteenth Conference of the Parties under the United Nations’ Climate Change Convention or COP15.

Ohio University Receives State Excellence Award
Tucked in the corner of Southern Ohio, lays the beautiful campus of OhioUniversity. Governor Ted Strickland announced that OU has been named a Center of Excellence in Energy and the Environment. This recognition came because of the University’s national reputation for energy and pollution research along with the potential of creating jobs in those fields.

Getting Involved: National Service that is Green
The Earth is polluted. The economy is still bad. It is hard to find a job—but despite the current hardships, volunteerism has not only held steady but has gone up according to volunteeringinamerica.gov. That isn’t surprising when you consider the current administration’s focus on national service with The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, and having a day of National Service on September 11th.
